I'm running 3.2U, and have preloader installed (whatever that does?)īy the way, all of the other US NTSC originals I have ripped work. Make sure your Wii remote is turned on and synced as well. Halp?īy the way, all of the other US NTSC originals I have ripped work. To do so, either press the power button at the top of the front of the console, or press the Wii remotes power button.
You will now have the homebrew Channel on your Wii home screen which should have some pre-loaded apps and emulators. The Homebrew Browser app lets you download emulators and updates from the web on your Wii. My app pack includes a few basic emulators and apps. Worst case I'd just like to be able to run the Japanese original again. Basically at this point, we can now run homebrew emulators and apps from our SD Card. Anyone have any ideas? My ideal scenario would be getting the English-patched ISO I made to launch from the USB loader, since that would improve load times over the DVD-R I made. I'm thinking it was the IOS update that fubar'd it, but I dunno. Plug in your USB memory device into the external USB Slot in the back of the Nintendo Wii.
Then I tried running it off the DVD-R and it gives me some error in Japanese on load. Insert the SD card into your Wii and start the Homebrew Channel. So then I tried to rip the original disc and I got the same thing. The rip went fine and it loaded up, but once I loaded my game it green screened and restarted the Wii.
I upgraded my IOS at the same time, and I tried ripping the English-patched DVD-R I had. It worked fine, but the loading times were worse than with the original, which was worse than the GCN version. File structure and naming schemes If your setup does not match this, it will not be guaranteed to work, or even show up in the loader: Proper file structure for GameCube games USB:// games/ Batman Begins/ game.iso Game Description/ game.iso.
#Setting up homebrew and usb loader for wii install#
The game was in Japanese so my solution was to rip it, install this patch I found online, then reburn it on a DVD-R.
